Project description

Information Engagement provides the conceptual backbone for much of the applied and experimental work across the research portfolio. It asks what engagement means when users interact with information rather than with products in the abstract.

Core contribution

The project brings together information behavior, HCI, and user engagement scholarship into a more unified understanding of how people search, process, evaluate, and respond to digital content.

Why it matters

By treating engagement as an information-centered process, the framework supports more precise research questions and more actionable design decisions across education, public service, commerce, and media.
